I’m sure that you will have heard of, or seen, Iceland’s Christmas advert.  The advert is hugely heart-warming, featuring a little girl and an orangutan, which turns up in her bedroom unannounced. However, this advert has caused quite a stir. It has been labelled as politically controversial and has been banned from being shown on TV. The advert delves into the process of Palm Oil production and how it endangers orangutans. The deforestation that occurs, in order to obtain the palm oil, results in the destruction of the orangutan’s habitat.   It is a moving advert and it got us thinking.
